Break-Off Tips[ | ]

Battle Summary[ | ]

  • This battle can only be done solo.
  • The battle take place in a bridge with walls on 2 sides that can only be destroyed by Muir's attack, by default some parts of the wall are missing (to allow players to take cover during Muir's AoE)
    • The wall at both ends of the bridge cannot be destroyed.
  • Muir can only be defeated by knocking it off the bridge, by doing so, the player had to let Muir destroyed the walls.

Battle Skills & Attacks[ | ]

  • Run-up attack, which he can combo with vertical smash of his right fist.
  • Does vertical smash with its right fist.
  • Does horizontal smash with either of its arms.
  • Right smack follow by a left smack
    • After the 1st AoE, Muir will do an additional overhead smash with its arm flashes red
      • This attack is a true unblockable meaning that it cannot blocked, absorbed, deflected or dodged using i-frames. It can however be dodged by using the transformation skill or by certain SP skills that give true i-frames such as the 1,000 SP disables and Arisha's Ruin Blade.
  • Spews a violet goo, dealing damage to the player and leave a pool of poison that deal damage over time.
    • It will take a short time before the pool start dealing damage.
    • The spit can be backlashed to deal damage to Muir.
  • Does a ground slam that will shoot a shockwave line along the ground. This attack cannot be blocked by Fiona or crosscut by Vella.
  • Charges his fist to perform an area of effect that affects the entire battlefield. Players are prompted to head down to the edges of the platform to initiate a minigame.
    • He will first do this when he reaches 8 bars, after which some of his attacks will change.
      • His two hit combo will gain a 3rd hit that is a red unblockable.
    • After the player succeeds at the minigame, they will receive the Balance (Buff).
  • Roars and does a 5 hit combo where he swings wildly while turning.
    • Muir will start to use this attack after his first AOE attack. The last few hits cannot be crosscut by Vella.

Tips & Tricks[ | ]

  • It's best to bait Muir to destroy large part of the wall in the 1st stage (Above 8 bar, because he had no true unblockable attack yet) so as soon as Muir hit its last stage, it can be easily knocked off, this is useful if the player is aiming for the title Fancy Footwork
  • Muir's combos leave a good enough time window for attacks, but his speed increases after his hp is low enough to do his powerful attack.
  • Switch side often, don't let yourself be pushed into corner.
  • Stay at a distance from Muir will cause it to do the spit attack repeatedly, covering many areas with poison, so it's best to stay close to Muir as all of its attack are slow and predictable.
  • Watch out for the ledge, Muir's attack can push the player off the ledge.
    • If you happen to fall off and have Paladin Transformation or Dark Knight Transformation off cooldown. You are able to transform in midair before hitting the ground to turn invulnerable and take no damage from the fall.
    • Fall off the bridge usually incapacitate the player, although it's possible to survive the fall with Life Flare, survive or not, the player will be warped back up to the bridge.
    • Arisha player had to be careful while using Diffusion Warp, swap position with an Orb that's off the ledge will lead to a fall.
  • While Muir is charging its AoE, it's better to choose a ledge that not too close to Muir, so the player have more time to prepare and not get push off the ledge when they climb back up.
  • By the end of the battle (at 3 bar HP), one of his legs will bleed. Attacking the bleeding leg will push it toward any ledge (providing the wall in that area are destroyed), casuing it to fall off the bridge, ending the battle.
    • The best way to do this is using spear and aim at its back, although if the player don't have any spear, they can still use smash, note that the player had to spear/smash Muir in the back to push him.
    • Due to the risk of a glitch, it is best to avoid pushing Muir unnecessarily. Instead, bait him to use his 3-hit smash toward the edge, then dodge around him and knock him off. If he glitches, continue to bait him to use his 3 hit out of the edge to trigger a reset.
    • Sometimes pushing Muir will cause him to stumble in place instead of stumbling forward. There also appears to be a cooldown between stumbles so you cannot repeatedly stumble him.
  • Light of Palala are moderately effective.
  • Scythe evies can stand at the edge, wait for Muir to walk up to them and start an attack, and then blink through him and blade shift his back to knock him off easily.
  • Arisha can go into Mana Blade mode, launch a mana crystal through Muir, diffusion warp through him and hit his back to knock him off. This only works if he does not use the 5 hit spinning combo as his back will constantly turn away from you.
  • Vella can crosscut through him which will apply damage to his back and knock him off. This does not work for his spinning combo.

Additional Notes[ | ]

  • About the minigame :
    • While hanging on the platform, the player tilt the leverage so the ball move to a specific mark within ten seconds. This must be done about 5 times.
    • If the ball fall off the leverage, or the time run out, the player will fail the minigame, there are two outcome when the player fail :
      • The ball fall off at medium/slow speed or time run out : the player take damage, climb back up, Muir stop the AoE and the battle continue normally.
      • The ball fall off at fast speed : the player will fall off.
    • It is sometimes possible to fail the minigame even if you are waiting for a blue spot to appear, this might happen due to a bug or because your ball is at the red portion of the lever for too long.
